Apparently some fatal accident closed down the major artery to the venue. So we had to take a back road and ended up missing the first three songs. Once there though, we got right into the show. So I am walking again. I had the screws removed from my ankle on Tuesday June 13th and was back on the crutches for a little while. But now I am walking again. The Doctor gave me a big ol' red light today. Looks like I am going using the crutches for another 4 weeks. Now the doctor is advising me to have the screws removed which will mean another surgery in June.

I had to go to Miami for Business this week. I was traveling on the crutches with the airboot on my left foot. I arranged for a wheelchair to pick me up at the ticket counter in NYC.So the wheelchair picks me up at the ticket counter and takes me straight through security and directly to the gate (total time about 10 minutes). Well I received good news from the Doctor today. My ankle is healing perfectly. I have been given a minor reprieve from my air boot. I can leave it off while I am at home. I still have to wear it while I sleep. At this point, I will take any freedom I can get. I start physical therapy next week. Hopefully that will go well. The doctor reminded me that it is going to be a long road to recovery.

I got my cast off yesterday, 3/24/06. Everything looks good (or so the doctor says). My left calf is about half the size of my right one. It really looks crippled.
